M1ViNL (DISCONTINUED) - Overview
Records retain an immense – and growing – appeal for music fans, and we believe in helping LP lovers get the very best from their vinyl.
That's why we designed our state-of-the-art phono pre-amplifier, the M1 ViNL.
It's engineered to deliver a level of performance and versatility that an integrated amplifier's phono stage – and indeed many dedicated rivals – can only dream of.
The M1 ViNL offers an extraordinary menu of loading options for users of both moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges, meaning you can find the perfect set up for your system. Switchable RIAA and IEC EQs add further flexibility.
The M1 ViNL even allows you to switch resistance, capacitance or equalisation curve while you're playing records – so you can instantly hear the effect of each mode and more easily find the optimum settings for different cartridges and discs. A clear display and intuitive controls make the process simpler still.
M1ViNL (DISCONTINUED) - Design and Build
The M1 ViNL has a circuit design based on the legendary KW phono stage, but using the latest technology and manufacturing techniques to improve on that incredible standard. For example, the M1 ViNL features new-generation ultra-low-noise instrumentation amplifiers – the highest quality available.
This results in outstanding performance from the M1 ViNL, which pushes technical parameters at every turn. Both distortion and noise are minimal; distortion measures at less than 0.01% at 1kHz for either input, and equalization is within 0.2dB all the way up to 50kHz. Signal to noise ratio is 90dB for the MM input and an incredibly low 88dB for MC.
Thanks to the M1 ViNL's extraordinary input flexibility, those performance benefits can be optimally enjoyed regardless of your choice of turntable and cartridges.
For moving-magnet (MM) designs, the M1 ViNL offers two choices of resistive loading - 47k or 68k input impedance - plus eight capacitive-loading options: 50PF, 100PF, 150PF, 200PF, 250PF, 300PF, 350PF and 400PF.
The moving-coil (MC) stage offers 10 resistive-loading options: 10R, 18R, 25R, 50R, 100R, 200R, 400R, 800R and 1600R and 47K.
Each of these options – along with switchable RIAA and IEC EQs – is simple to select via the push-button controls on the front of the M1 ViNL. This makes it easy to experiment with different set-ups to find the perfect performance for your system – even when a record is playing.
Finally, the M1 ViNL also offers output flexibility, with both balanced and single-end connections on the back of this excellent pre-amp.
